Harry Potter is dead, and the Dark Lord has taken control of the wizarding world. Severus Snape is alive, and must lead Hogwarts the way Voldemort instructs. He devises a plan to save Hermione Granger, but doesn't bargain on being placed under a Compulsion Curse that threatens to destroy them both. They are forced into a strange alliance that leads them to depend on each other for their very survival in the weeks and months post-war, denying their growing desire for one another.
